The VKTR VK-1 is a piston-driven AR-15 in 5.56 built around VKTR’s patented low-profile short-stroke piston system. A staged gas bleed lets it run consistently suppressed or unsuppressed with a range of factory ammo, and the one-piece op rod and removable gas block keep the footprint and weight of a standard direct-impingement AR-15.

It has a 13.7″ 1:7 twist hammer-forged heavy-profile barrel with machined cooling flutes, a 12.5″ VK-1 handguard, a Sons of Liberty NOX muzzle device pinned and welded to meet a 16″ barrel length, a 4.5 lb single-stage Hiperfire trigger, a Magpul SL stock and a Magpul K2 grip. Billet ambidextrous controls include a patented magazine release and bolt catch, and the one-piece bolt carrier uses a 22.5 degree long cam path in thin dense chrome. This California compliant version includes a Gen3 Compmag and is finished in green Cerakote. It comes with one California compliant Compmag, a rifle lock and a hard case.
