The Primary Weapons Systems UXR Elite is a semi-auto rifle system chambered in .223 Wylde (.223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO) with a 16″ 41V50 steel barrel and a 1:8 twist. Its Barrel Xchange system lets the owner swap calibers and barrel lengths, with .223 Wylde, 308 Win and 300 BLK named by PWS.

It runs a modified PWS long-stroke piston system with a bore evacuator that directs propellant gas away from the shooter, and a 3-position adjustable gas system with a dedicated suppressor setting. The ambidextrous receiver is machined from a single piece of 7075-T651 aluminum with Type III Class 2 hard anodizing. The folding buttstock adjusts for cheek height and length of pull and can be set to fold to either side, and the M-LOK handguard can be swapped for shorter lengths. An FRC compensator is fitted. Standard configuration weight starts at 7.9 lb.
